Tile Shift is a relaxing tile swap puzzle. A target pattern glows next to a shuffled grid of stars, balls, triangles and squares. Swipe tiles like in a match 3 game to swap them with their neighbour until the grid matches the target, before your moves run out. How to play the tile swap puzzle
- Press Play Game. The small glowing grid is the target pattern.
- Swipe a tile up, down, left or right on the big grid and it swaps places with its neighbour. Every swap uses one move.
- Tiles in the right place get a green outline, and the green bar shows how close you are.
- On the first levels a glowing dot shows you a good first swipe.
- Chain good swaps for combos, crack ice tiles and earn coins for hints, undo and extra moves.
- Make the whole grid match the target to clear the level. If your moves reach 0 first, try again!
Unlimited levels that get harder
You start small and the boards grow as you get better. Every level is built from a finished pattern shuffled with neighbour swaps, so every puzzle can be solved. Reloading the page keeps your level and your current board.

Every 5 levels you enter a new world: Wood Workshop, Frosty Peaks, Jungle Temple, Candy Land, Lava Forge and Starry Space, each with its own colors and music. From level 5 some boards have holes, and from level 8 frozen ice tiles block your way until you place a tile correctly next to them.
Solve a level within the move goal shown under the board for 3 stars, or up to 2 moves over it for 2 stars. Later levels give fewer spare moves, so every swipe counts.
Tips to solve every level
- Look for double fixes. If tile A belongs where B is and B belongs where A is, one swap fixes two tiles at once.
- Work row by row. Fix the top row first, then move down, so you never undo your own work.
- Watch the green bar. A good swap always makes it grow.
- Plan the route. A tile only moves one step per swipe, so bring far tiles over along a path of wrong tiles.
- Same shapes are free. Swiping a tile into the same shape only wiggles them and does not cost a move.
